Avviso di indizione di una procedura di valutazione comparativa per la copertura di due posizioni di Assistant Professor.
Si rende noto che, con il decreto direttoriale n. DD
02898(217).VII.5.06.08.12 presso la Scuola IMT Alti Studi, Lucca,
istituto statale di istruzione universitaria di alta formazione
dottorale con ordinamento speciale, e' stata indetta una procedura di
valutazione comparativa per due posizioni di assistant professor con
le seguenti specifiche:
Statistical Physics - 2 Assistant Professor Positions.
Fields: Analysis and modeling of complex systems and
applications of statistical physics to social systems; graph theory
and random structures and analysis and modeling of complex networks
in socio-economic systems.
Activity: Research, tutorship and mentoring of the Institute's
Ph.D. students, teaching and participation in the development of the
Institute's research activities.
Research area: Economics and Institutional Change.
Research unit: AXES - Laboratory for the Analysis of Complex
Economic Systems.
Project: One of the two positions will be financed in the
context of «CrisisLab» (Programma Nazionale per la Ricerca
2011-2013 - MIUR)
Formal requirements: Possession of a Ph.D. in a related field
with orientation towards applied research. An excellent level of both
written and spoken English is mandatory.
Specific requirements: A Ph.D. in Statistical Physics,
Mathematics or Information Sciences is preferable in addition to a
strong quantitative background. Candidates should have experience in
interdisciplinary applications of Complex Network theory with
particular emphasis on community detection and analysis of large data
sets. Experience with Computer programming and experience in European
projects is preferable. Candidates must have an excellent record of
high-impact international publications and should demonstrate
enthusiasm for performing applied research in an interdisciplinary
Research Unit.
Duration: Negotiable for a period ranging from 1 to 3 years.
